At the bottom of the sea, merman and mermaids swim together among wrecked ships, but sometimes they split: mermen prefer to practice trident launching while mermaids like to weave seaweed blankets, and a few of them play conch while others prefer singing. They were confused by their choices; half-human, half-fish, and all conflicting wishes and feelings, as if they carry a tidal wave inside them. The beautiful and delicate illustrations by Elisa Carareto accompany the feelings and doubts of the main character, at the same time, mythical and contemporary.
