Actually there are two squares in this book: one fictional and other real. The story written by Carlos Moraes, tells us about five very different teenagers who were forced to participate in a school project together. The result is a complete change in a square near the school, and also in their lives. The other square, beautifully represented by watercolors and drawings by Rubens Matuck, is real. It is in Vila Madalena, in São Paulo, and is the result of a collective work of residents who have been working for more than twenty years in the protection and maintenance of the square. Together, the two squares prove how it is possible to transform places and lives when people unite with that purpose.
